How AI is used here
Where artificial intelligence was used in making this site, and where it was not, as article 50 of the EU AI Act asks.
In short
No result, score, figure or threshold on this site is produced by a language model. Language models helped to write, translate and research the site, under human review.
How results are computed
Every result is computed by a deterministic rules engine from versioned rule files: the same answers always give the same result. No language model runs when you open a page, and none sees your answers.
Machine translation
The interface and explanatory texts were written in English and translated into the other languages with the help of a language model. Results are computed before translation, so translation can change wording and never a value.
Quotations from laws and official pages are shown in their original language. Where a translation stands beside one, it is marked as ours, machine-assisted and reviewed against the source.
Research and extraction
Requirements, figures and sources were gathered from official publications with AI-assisted research and extraction. An automated validator checks that every figure appears in the quotation it was read from, and a route is marked as checked against the law only after a person has reviewed it line by line. Drafts have not had that review.
Software
The software that runs the site was written with the help of an AI coding assistant and is covered by automated tests.
