About Emigrator

What Emigrator does, how it decides, and who runs it.

What it does

Emigrator compares countries, residence routes and cities against the answers you give: whether a route’s published requirements fit your household, what a month would cost there, and how each place meets what matters to you. It asks for no name and stores nothing; your answers live in the address of the page.

How it decides

Eligibility comes first. A route is checked against the requirements its own state publishes, read in the law or on the official page, and a destination is ranked on its fit only within what those rules allow.

Figures come from named official sources, each with its publisher and the date it was read. A figure we estimated is marked as ours, and one nobody publishes is shown as missing.

No AI takes any decision. The rules and the arithmetic are fixed code, the same for every reader.

Values reported by site users are shown apart from the published ones, in their own colour, and count only if you choose them.

The country outlines on the start page and on the country and city pages are drawn from Natural Earth, which is in the public domain.

Who runs it
